The Dura disc is an innovative and versatile rehabilitation tool that we have recently acquired for our clinics at Roxburgh Park and EMPC.? The Dura disc is a partially inflated rubber disc that forms an unstable surface that can be used for strength training of the lumbar spine muscles.? The Dura disc can also be used in rehabilitation following ankle sprain (regarding balance and strength), following total knee replacement, hip surgery or shoulder surgery. The disc is a safer alternative to the wobble board that has previously been used in rehabilitation clinics.? It is also useful when retraining balance and preventing falls in the elderly population.
