| | APA Outcome Measures |
| | In February the Victorian APA released a discussion paper to help clarify the use of Outcome Measures (OM) as part of the proper clinical justification for physiotherapy.
The key principles include:
- OM enables the treating physiotherapist to progressively evaluate physiotherapy treatment Outcomes.
- The therapist should be responsible for selecting valid reliable and sensitive OM relevant to a clients individual clinical needs and functional treatment goals.
- OM should be used by the treating physiotherapist to :
- Evaluate and document demonstrable benefits of physiotherapy.
- Identify, document and act on factors that may comprise treatment Outcomes or predict poor OM.
